The Lake County Board of County Commissioners voted May 20 to approve a one-year extension of the Angel View 2 major subdivision sketch plan (land use file 25-13), extending the sketch-plan expiration to April 2, 2026.
Community Planning and Development Director Anne Schneider read a motion and the Planning Commission’s unanimous recommendation into the record. Schneider said the Planning Commission (at its April 28 meeting) found that the applicant had demonstrated “good cause” for the one-time extension under county code, noting that coordination with the Colorado Department of Transportation on a traffic study and the seasonality required for geotechnical testing were factors beyond the applicant’s control.
The board moved, seconded and approved the official action record consistent with the planning commission’s recommendation. Schneider reminded the board the extension is a one-time allowance under the county code; if the applicant requires further time beyond April 2, 2026, the sketch plan will lapse and the applicant would need to refile according to code.
Ending
Planning staff noted that the board was present at the planning commission meeting where the original recommendation was made and that staff will continue to coordinate with the applicant and CDOT as required.
