The Oxnard City Council received a mid-cycle update to the city’s five-year capital improvement program (CIP) on May 20 and held a public hearing on proposed changes to the 2025–2029 project list.
Public Works Director Michael Wolf and staff told the council the city maintains roughly 1,036 lane miles of streets and 440.5 centerline miles, and that project schedules and funding can shift because capital projects take multiple years of planning, design and construction. Staff described the methodology used to estimate project costs and explained why certain projects were deferred one fiscal year, saying the change reflected timing for design, community feedback and funding alignment.
