Commission moves multiple education regulation updates to public workshop, including school psychology and endorsement rules

The Nevada Commission on Professional Standards moved a package of proposed regulatory updates to public workshop, sending drafts for further public review and formal notice.

Items the commission advanced to workshop included a substantial rewrite of school psychology regulations (NAC 391.315–391.319), repeal of duplicative language on exceptions to teach out of field (NAC 391.146–391.158) because that content is in statute (NRS 385A.220–385A.230), a new regulation permitting the department to remove or rename endorsements with transition periods, updates to create an additional pathway to an adaptive physical education endorsement, and a streamlined pathway for stacked alternative route to licensure (ARL) endorsements to meet employer staffing needs.
