Travel Salem reports $750 million in visitor spending, asks county for analysis of inflation impacts

Kelly Weese, Marion County economic development program manager, introduced Angie of Travel Salem, who presented the organization’s annual and quarterly report during the Jan. 29 board session.
"More than three quarters of a billion dollars was generated by the tourism industry for our community," Angie said, citing a 3.3% year‑over‑year increase that added more than $25 million in visitor spending. She said visitor-related employment in the county exceeded 7,700 jobs.
