- Town Hall air-conditioning award: The council voted to award the Town Hall air-conditioning replacement project to Prime Heating and Cooling LLC (Smithfield) for $240,000, and to encumber up to $25,000 for additional electrical work, for an anticipated total project cost of $265,000. Funding sources cited were a $143,185.93 grant from the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources and up to $121,814.07 from unallocated capital funds. The motion passed.
- Planning/bond reduction for Shoreline Properties (Carlton Avenue): The council considered a planning-board recommendation to reduce a developer improvement bond from approximately $1,030,100 to $438,800 based on engineers27 estimates of remaining work. After extended discussion and resident testimony, the vote was a 2–2 tie and the motion did not pass; the larger bond remains in place.
- Routine consent items and appointments: The council approved the consent agenda (minutes of Jan. 21), a parade license for the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick (Sunday the 16th at 1:00 p.m.), and several reappointments to the public library board of trustees and other boards. A resignation from the Recreation Committee was accepted.
- Executive session: At the meeting27s close the council voted to go into executive session.
