Davis County commissioners on Feb. 4 approved a series of contracts, reimbursements and administrative items, including a $666,664 contract with Motorola Solutions for in-car and body camera equipment and storage, ratification of a $41,633 Bureau of Justice Assistance receivable, and adjustments on the county property tax register.
The commission approved a professional services agreement for Spanish interpretation services for the county attorney’s criminal division and victim advocates, authorized the cancellation of two scheduled March commission meetings, and voted to table a proposed AirDNA subscription contract for tracking short-term rental data.
The Motorola Solutions agreement covers equipment, software and video storage for in-car and body cameras. County staff described the contract as a five-year agreement that will run from the final signature through Dec. 30, 2029; commissioners ratified the contract by voice vote. The sheriff’s office presented the Motorola item and did not receive questions during the meeting.
The sheriff’s office also asked the commission to ratify a Bureau of Justice Assistance receivable for reimbursement of costs related to housing criminal aliens; the receivable is $41,633 for the period July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. The commission ratified that item by voice vote.
From the clerk’s office, the commission approved cancellation of the regular commission meetings scheduled for March 4 and March 18, 2025, citing commissioner attendance at conferences and a resulting lack of quorum. The clerk’s office also notified the commission that the director of Community and Economic Development requested more time on item 4, a proposed AirDNA subscription for short-term rental data; the commission voted to table that item.
The commission approved the property tax register as presented. County staff reported approved appeals totaling $68,570; 15 veteran tax exemptions totaling $220,172.67; and five board of equalization corrections totaling $925,007.89. Commissioners approved three sets of meeting minutes for Jan. 7, Jan. 20 and Jan. 21, 2025, as part of consent items.
Motions and votes during the meeting were handled by voice vote; when no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript, the commission recorded approval with “All in favor. Aye.” The meeting concluded at 10:31 a.m.
