The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday appointed members to the county’s Charter Review Committee, a seven‑person panel that will review the Placer County Charter and recommend any charter amendments for future voter consideration.
County staff said the clerk of the board received 19 applications during the 65-day open period. The board appointed one committee member from each supervisorial district: Loretta Walker (District 1), Nathan Herzog (District 2), Chris Janssen (District 3), Dan Woodward (District 4) and Larry Farina (District 5). The board then named two at‑large members from the application pool: Einar Mej and Troy Alessi.
County staff will coordinate meeting dates with the clerk of the board; state law requires a minimum of two public meetings for the committee. Any recommendations from the Charter Review Committee would return to the Board of Supervisors for possible placement on a future ballot.
