Board approves $130,000 contract with MNJ Advisors to implement county forest health plan

The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a two-year professional services agreement with MNJ Advisors Inc. to support implementation of the county’s regional forest health 10-year action plan.
Josh Hunsinger, director of Agriculture, Parks and Natural Resources, told the board the $130,000 agreement (with an authorization for up to $13,000 in amendments) is designed to add short-term capacity to the county’s three-person team, analyze longer-term staffing needs and help coordinate a regional approach to forest-health activities and biomass disposal. Hunsinger thanked the Placer County Water Agency for pledging to fund 50% of the contract.
Supervisor Gustafson moved approval; Supervisor DeMatte seconded. The board approved the purchase, with staff noting the contract period will run from Feb. 19, 2025, through Feb. 18, 2027, and that the action was determined not to be a project under CEQA guidelines.
