The presenter said many rural homes predate modern accessibility standards and often lack wide doorways, entry ramps and accessible bathrooms. The Home Access program is administered as a DCA-funded passthrough and the council asked the committee to consider increasing the appropriation to expand access for Georgians with disabilities.
