U.N. says Gaza aid delivery continues but needs for oxygen, shelters, winter aid are urgent

OCHA said the Palestinian Ministry of Health has stressed that oxygen supplies are critically needed to support emergency surgical and intensive‑care services at hospitals across Gaza City, including Al Shifa and Al Rantisi. Health partners are working with authorities to bring generators, spare parts and equipment needed to produce oxygen in northern Gaza.
Shelter partners distributed tarpaulins to more than 11,000 families over the weekend, and aid groups reported that roughly 450 families at the Al Mawasi displacement site received shelter‑sealing kits, plus kitchen and hygiene kits. The U.N. also reported that 50,000 learners have enrolled in UNRWA’s distance learning program; OCHA said roughly 95 percent of school buildings have been damaged over the past 15 months of hostilities.
The spokesperson said deliveries continue under the existing response plans and urged sustained international support to maintain the flow of aid.
The briefing noted continuing concern about the humanitarian impact of the broader implementation of the ceasefire and hostage‑release arrangements, and repeated calls for parties to uphold international humanitarian and human‑rights law.
Less critical details: the press briefing announced that Mahanad Hadi, the U.N. humanitarian coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory, is scheduled to brief the U.N. the following day on the Gaza situation.
