WRTA expands on‑demand service to Westborough; rides $2 and wheelchair accessible

Town planner Jenny Gingras told the Planning Board on July 1 that Westborough riders now have expanded access to WRTA's on‑demand service provided by Via.
"Beginning July 1, WRTA's on demand transportation service, Via, has been new and improved," Gingras said. She said the provider was selected through 2027, service zones have been updated to include Northborough and a Shrewsbury shift, and Westborough riders will have access at the MBTA station and to Downtown Northborough and Solomon Pond Mall. Gingras added that all vehicles are wheelchair accessible and fares are $2 per ride.
Planners encouraged the board to promote the service, noting app improvements and possible outreach to high‑school families and other user groups to boost awareness.
