At the end of the Sept. 2 meeting, Town Planner Jenny Gingrich updated the board on several planning projects. She said staff, the GIS coordinator and assistant town planner Kristen Blanger created an interactive story map that displays transportation projects in concept, design and construction phases and that it is now live on the town website.
Gingrich also said the planning team shifted the scope of work for the consultant (referred to as GM2 in the transcript) that is working on section 2 of the 'B wall' project. Rather than holding an additional public meeting and proceeding immediately to state permitting steps, the consultant will focus on exploring an alternative route around the solar field adjacent to the wastewater treatment plant to reduce wetland impacts, refine landscaping and evaluate alternatives required for a Conservation Commission notice of intent.
Gingrich said staff will provide another update at the next Planning Board meeting and will ask the moderator for permission to give a short presentation on the master plan at Town Meeting. A Sustainable Westborough representative reported that the group is considering a Substack for outreach and has deferred adopting a specialized energy code until town meeting outreach is complete.
