The Westborough Select Board recorded several formal actions during its May 27 meeting.
Health insurance agreement — The board approved an amended and restated agreement consolidating documents related to employee health insurance and authorized the town manager to execute the document with each union. A board member (Kim) recused themself from the discussion because their spouse is a member of the clerical union.
Pride Month proclamation — After reading and correcting typographical errors in the draft, the board approved a proclamation declaring June 2025 as Pride Month in Westborough and asked staff to finalize the corrected language.
Seasonal liquor licenses — The board granted Section 15/F seasonal licenses for off-premise sales at the Westborough Farmers Market (1100 Union Street) for the following applicants on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., 06/12/2025–10/09/2025: Broken Creek Vineyard (Abby Scaff), Flying Dreams Brewing Company (Casey Goodhind), Rushford & Sons Brewhouse (Michael Rushford), and Spicy Water Distillery (Barry Bacon). Each motion was moved, seconded and approved as recorded.
Interdepartmental transfers — The board approved two interdepartmental transfers: $45,000 from police salary/wages to fire salary/wages to cover overtime and leave, and $4,500 from the select board manager salary/wages to select board manager expenses to fund short-term contractual assistance during a staffing vacancy.
Regional Stormwater Coalition IMA — The board voted to execute the Central Massachusetts Regional Stormwater Coalition intermunicipal agreement for FY26–FY30; the expected annual contribution is $4,000 per participating community.
Minutes and other routine approvals were also approved. The board then moved into executive session on collective bargaining and multiple pending litigation matters.
