City staff told the Inkster City Council Sept. 15 that problems with older water meters prevented timely billing but that new meters are now reporting. Mister Trezor, who provided the utility update, said staff will send combined bills for July and August later this month and that there will be no late charges; due dates will be pushed toward the end of the year.
Mister Trezor said the city had been unable to download data from some old meters and has been working with billing and treasury staff to recover partial data from the new units. He told residents the two months of billing would be distributed over the next one to two weeks and that staff will share additional information as it becomes available.
Council and staff also discussed logistics for the city carnival (Sept. 19–21), including hours and advance ticket pricing, and staff described accommodations to allow a previously scheduled private event to proceed ahead of carnival traffic. Director Lisa listed other community events and resources on the record and provided the ordinance hotline ((313) 741‑5605; 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon–Fri; follow‑ups within 72 business hours; photos may be emailed to blight@cityofinkster.com).
