Town Manager announces new senior and social services director, program updates

Town Manager Christy told the Select Board the town has appointed Kendra Faldetta as the new senior and social services director; the council on aging confirmed the appointment and Faldetta's first day will be Monday, March 17. Christy described a multi-step interview process that included council on aging members, department heads and town staff.
Christy also updated the board on several town programs: the 2025 Senior Veteran property tax work-off program (60 participant slots, up to 133 hours for a $1,995 benefit; 57 participants placed so far), follow-up actions resulting from a Feb. 27 meeting with the wastewater treatment plant board about expansion plans, the Regional Emergency Communication Center's second-round funding application to the state and steps to hire an executive director, library Friends activities and a repair-project information session, and sustainability projects led by sustainability coordinator Ben Bowers (including a community aggregation program and a sustainability newsletter).
Board members congratulated staff and commended the collaborative hiring process. Christy said there will be follow-up meetings on wastewater items and ongoing work to stand up the regional communications district.
