The Select Board restated its votes on two FY26 budget items — the Youth and Family Services budget and the insurance budget — because of a personnel conflict related to a staff member.
Town Manager Christy explained the board had previously approved the nonunion compensation study and reductions and that the finance committee had voted to support the updated budget table; two budgets needed separate, explicit votes because of a conflict involving a staff member (Patrick's wife). Patrick recused himself and muted his audio while the vice chair presided.
With the vice chair presiding, the board moved and seconded a motion to "support" (restated vote) for the two budgets. The roll-call vote was 4–0 in favor with one recusal. The minutes reflect the board's intention to maintain other prior votes as recorded and only correct the record for these two items.
Board members thanked staff for a well-run process and emphasized transparency in handling conflicts of interest.
