Inkster council approves multiple contracts, grant and appointments

At its Oct. 6 meeting the Inkster City Council approved several motions by voice vote covering bids, contracts, grants and appointments.
The council authorized administration to accept Arch Environmental Group’s bid of $14,500 for project coordination and air monitoring during asbestos removal at the former animal shelter, with a 10% contingency of $1,450 for a total project cost of $15,950.
Councillors adopted a resolution to approve the Safe Streets for All unified action plan.
The council recommended consultant Giffords Webster for the Tyrone Wheatley Park project and approved entering into a grant agreement with the Michigan Department of State Police for $600,000 under the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP).
Officials also authorized Superior Contracting Group to clean retention ponds at Annapolis Point for $83,000 plus a 10% contingency ($8,300) for a total of $91,300.
The council approved appointments and reappointments: Steven Anthony Dooley to the Parks and Recreation Commission and reappointments of Tavane Hall and Sheryl Hayes Bradford to the Planning Commission.
