The board then read and confirmed a slate of department heads, including Tom Ecker as county administrator; Jeff Graham as county attorney; Jessica Baston as county engineer; Roger Edens as BMA director; Ginny Chambers as dispatch director; Stephanie Mellinger as health department director; Scott Harless as highway superintendent; Beatrice Ramey as HR director; Derek Deeds as IT director; David Kane (NNTRC director); John Smock (properties manager); D. B. Kiesling (recycling center); Mecca Andrews Hill (veterans affairs) and Christopher Tee.
The commissioners also assigned members to standing boards and regional bodies, naming representatives to the Board of Finance, Community Justice, Emergency Management, Public Records, East Central Indiana Solid Waste District, Cemetery Commission, Council of Governments, Drainage Board, Planning Commission, Region 5 work development, Personnel Board and the 911 board.
The appointments were approved by motion and voice vote. The meeting then proceeded to new business.
