At the Nov. 10 meeting Speaker 6 told commissioners that two ordinances were prepared to allow operating expenses to be paid from the county’s perpetuation fund. One ordinance will be retroactive to cover 2025 expenses and the other will cover 2026.
Speaker 6 explained Grant prepared the paperwork required to make the 2025 ordinance retroactive to comply with state requirements. Commissioners discussed the proper year labeling and asked for a copy of the ordinance for records. A motion to approve the 2025 resolution (listed as Resolution 2025-12 in the meeting sequence) was moved by Amy and seconded by Janet and advanced in discussion.
Next steps: staff will finalize the ordinance text, provide copies to commissioners and place any required readings or votes on a future agenda.
