Liberty Hill Chamber reports membership growth, gala and Jingle Bell Run plans

Steve Schiff, president of the Liberty Hill Chamber of Commerce, addressed the City Council to report membership gains and upcoming events.
Schiff said the Chamber recently reached its goal of 300 members and currently counts 302 members. He asked council members to volunteer as speakers and mentors for a high-school entrepreneur program that will culminate next May.
On events, Schiff said tickets are selling quickly for the Chamber’s annual gala on Sept. 23 at Lone Star Oaks and that the city and the Economic Development Corporation have already purchased a table. He said the gala will be capped around 220 attendees and tickets cost $75.
Schiff also previewed the Jingle Bell Run scheduled for Dec. 13, noting that last year 438 runners participated and the Chamber distributed about $12,000 to the Education Foundation and checks to participating schools. He praised the Liberty Hill Police Department for its support of the event and said the mayor issued a proclamation tying downtown activity to the run.
Schiff closed by inviting residents to attend Chamber events and to contact him if they want to volunteer or sponsor events.
