SBA outlines disaster loan options and local outreach for July flood victims in Travis and Williamson counties

LIBERTY HILL, Texas — Rommel Jaber, public information officer with the Small Business Administration Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, told the Liberty Hill City Council on Sept. 24 that low‑interest disaster loans are available to residents and businesses that suffered damages in July storms affecting Travis and Williamson counties.
Jaber said the SBA offers physical damage loans with rates “as low as 2.81% at a fixed term” and loans for homeowners and renters up to $100,000 to repair or replace personal property. He said businesses and private nonprofits may be eligible for loans up to $2,000,000 for real estate repair or replacement, and for economic injury loans to cover working capital needs.
On deadlines, Jaber said, “The deadline to apply for physical damage loan is 09/28/2025,” and he noted the deadline for economic injury loans as April 6, 2026. He also said payments and interest are deferred for the first 12 months for approved applicants and that applicants are not required to accept a loan if approved.
Jaber noted an SBA disaster outreach center at Round Mountain Baptist Church in Leander with customer service representatives available Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., to assist with applications and questions. He told council, “We highly encourage those that were affected to submit an application because once they are approved they're not obligated to take the loan.”
