Several Butler Farms residents used the Dec. 10 public comment period to describe chronic water pressure problems and to press the city for timelines and engineering data.
Mitch Morrow said parts of Butler Farms regularly experience no water, and he asked to re‑establish a residents’ meeting with city staff to clarify timelines for permanent repairs. “We do very often get completely no water in our area,” Morrow said.
Tammy Walton asked whether the city has conducted recent engineering assessments of Butler Farms water lines, wells, pumps or treatment capacity and requested results be made public; she reported pressures often below 25–35 PSI standards. Dale Walton asked for realistic timelines, specific benchmarks for reliable service and raised concern about daily flushing/wasting of thousands of gallons during operations.
Rudy (Rudolf Kess in the roll call list) said the intersection of State Highway 29 and Butler Farms Drive lacks an installed traffic signal and described it as “an accident waiting to happen.” Lacey Scott, who said she organized a Butler Farms action committee, said residents feel abandoned and asked council to provide reassurance and a clear vision for infrastructure improvements.
City staff said they would collect contact information and follow up with residents, and the mayor and council asked staff to bring the concerns back to the appropriate departments. The council later listed a closed executive‑session item to receive legal advice related to water system capacity (item 9B), but reconvened with no action taken at adjournment.
No definitive timelines were published at the meeting; residents asked the council to schedule a follow‑up meeting to provide benchmarks and engineering information.
