During a continued hearing conducted in a hybrid (in‑person/Zoom) format, the applicant said he shortened the proposed garage from 24 feet to 20 feet and moved it farther back, leaving a 28‑foot setback from the front property line. “We shortened the structure by 4 feet... now it’s 20 instead of 24 feet long,” the applicant said while describing the revised drawings shown to the board.
Board members asked whether the garage would attach to the house and confirmed the side setbacks remained compliant. One member noted the change made the application a “de minimis” request. A motion to grant relief based on the revised plans was made, seconded and approved by members voting at the hearing.
The board did not place additional conditions on the variance. The applicant was told to follow up with required permits and inspections from the building department.
The order granting the variance will be the record that reflects the revised site plan and the dimensions approved; the board recorded the vote at the meeting and the applicant was advised to proceed with local permitting.
