Davis County approves several interlocal transportation reimbursements and scope amendments

Davis County staff presented multiple transportation projects Nov. 18 and commissioners approved interlocal agreements and reimbursements using third-quarter transportation grant funds.

Key approvals included a reimbursement agreement with Farmington City for the Main Street SR-106 Parkland Shepherdland project with a county payable of $3,061,162; a Clinton City agreement for the 1300 North/1500 West roundabout at a county payable of $2,500,000; and a West Point agreement for a 700 South widening (phase 2) at $1,528,263. Staff also presented an amendment to a West Point north reconstruction project to expand scope (adding a shared-use path) and increase the county contribution from approximately $3,000,000 to $4,200,000.

Kent Anderson said the projects largely reallocate or federalize earlier plans and do not add new county dollars in aggregate, and he emphasized multi-jurisdictional collaboration with cities and regional partners.

Why it matters: These agreements fund major road and multimodal improvements that affect traffic flow, school access and active-transportation connections (staff noted a new junior high near one project and the shared-use path connection to UDOT infrastructure).

Next steps: Staff will execute the interlocal agreements and oversee project delivery according to each agreement's timeline. The commission recorded approval by voice vote.
