County seeks approval to accept $1.93 million DSHS grant for health-related social needs services

Snohomish County staff told the Health and Community Services Committee that the Department of Human Services is slated to receive a $1,931,100 grant from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, to support health-related social needs services.
Nicole Corley described three funding areas in the grant and said the largest share — $1,516,012 — is earmarked for service delivery, including nutrition support, home accessibility modifications, remediation, adaptation and caregiver respite. She said Schedule A of the contract details the services and funding levels for each area. Staff requested referral to GLS and the committee moved the item to the Jan. 20 consent agenda.
Next steps: the grant agreement will be reviewed by GLS and considered on the Jan. 20 consent agenda; council action is required for acceptance and implementation.
