O'Fallon reports strong early sales for Celebration of Lights, preview night set for Nov. 24

Tourism and festivals staff updated the Fallon (O'Fallon) Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on a series of holiday events and strong early ticket demand at the Nov. 18 meeting.
Jennifer, tourism and festivals staff, said the Celebration of Lights has generated roughly "$73,900‑plus in sales so far," a figure she said includes a small number of drive‑through buses but is mostly stroll tickets. Jennifer reported 1,211 tickets sold to date and said some nights are already sold out.
She also said the O'Fallon Theater Works production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” has sold 368 tickets (about $5,800 in receipts), and that the train attraction for Celebration of Lights is sold out. Specialty rides and trolleys remain available; Jennifer noted trolleys hold about 30 people per trip and the trolley fare is $17 per person.
Jennifer asked board members to claim a complimentary preview night ticket for Monday, Nov. 24, 5:30–6:45 p.m., entry off Placmire, so staff can test scanning and ticketing systems. A board member noted the preview‑night email was sent roughly 20 minutes before the meeting; Jennifer said she would walk through registration on members’ phones after the meeting for anyone having trouble.
Other logistics she described: Celebration of Lights runs Nov. 28–Dec. 30 (closed Christmas Day); the old‑fashioned holiday stroll will take place Dec. 7–9 at Fort Zumwalt Park with fireworks at approximately 7:00 and 7:45 p.m.; O'Fallon Theater Works runs Dec. 5–14 with additional special events (including a dine‑and‑discover on Dec. 6). Several family events will be staged at the Renaud Center and O'Day Lodge throughout December.
Jennifer said the department is using QR codes and on‑site kiosks during other holiday events to support on‑the‑spot ticket purchases and to help new staff learn scanning procedures.
