Davis County Commission appoints Jamie Duster to Bountiful Irrigation District

The Davis County Commission on Aug. 5 approved the appointment of Jamie Duster to the Bountiful Irrigation District, filling the seat vacated by Michael D. Mayfield, who resigned effective July 31.
Chair Loreen Kamalu introduced the nomination and invited Dorel to introduce Duster. Dorel described Duster as a long-time Bountiful resident who returned after a brief period away and expressed willingness to serve. Duster said he retired less than two years ago and wants to “give back” through local service.
Commissioner Cross moved to approve item number 2; the motion was seconded and commissioners voted in favor. The commission noted the term begins Aug. 1, 2025, and expires July 31, 2029.
The appointment was presented to replace a trustee who resigned at the end of July; no public opposition or alternate nominees were recorded at the meeting. The commission thanked Dorel and Duster for appearing and welcomed Duster to the district board.
