Committee members noted the project estimate increased from earlier documents (one committee member cited $2.0 million in the book versus $2.8 million in the warrant). Staff and members said the work is being done in phases and that the sewer enterprise would repay borrowed funds rather than drawing on the town’s general levy. Speakers also described a map showing which downtown sections would be addressed in the proposed phase.
Member McMahon moved the recommendation; Member Bradley seconded. After discussion about estimates and process, the committee voted in favor of recommending the $2.8 million borrowing.
