Coos Bay council appoints four to Planning Commission

Following interviews held prior to the meeting, the Coos Bay City Council appointed four residents to the Planning Commission.
City Manager Nicole Rutherford outlined that two seats were expiring at the end of the year and two additional openings resulted from recent resignations. Councilor Cribbins moved to appoint Jeff Marineau and Jim Burke to the two positions ending in 2029 and to appoint Alicia Lund and Derek Wyndham to fill the seats with terms ending in 2026. Council approved the nominations by voice vote with no opposition.
Council members thanked all applicants and noted the Planning Commission’s heavy workload, including large packets and land‑use decisions that can be appealed. The new appointees were congratulated and the council noted appreciation for volunteers who serve on commissions.
