City manager outlines Water Day attendance, board openings, budget dates; staff updates Old City Hall RFP and LID permitting

City Manager Ogden told the council he and the clerk will attend Water Day at the Capitol on Feb. 2 as part of the Oregon Water Caucus to track state water policy and build relationships. He also announced openings on the Planning Commission and Parks & Entry Committee and emphasized that both are at-large positions open to residents of the Sweet Home School District.
Ogden said staff are beginning budget work and proposed convening the budget committee April 29–30. Councilors expressed general agreement with those dates.
On two infrastructure and facilities items, staff reported the LID project for Willow and Yucca is undergoing state permitting and is now working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers because of proximity to a waterway; a revised timeline is expected this spring. Staff also said the Old City Hall RFP will go live tomorrow, with a mandatory site visit at the end of the month and a procurement closing in April; the city will return to council when the RFP results are ready.
Council did not take formal action on these items at the meeting but asked staff to provide updates at upcoming meetings.
