Theresa said she plans to meet with the Boy Scouts in February to ask whether Eagle Scouts would consider building small free libraries and noted a library contact had signaled interest. “The only thing that we would do is provide the books,” Theresa said, adding the intent was to reach residents who might not otherwise visit the library.
Members raised durability and security concerns. One member urged placing pocket libraries in public areas covered by park cameras to reduce abuse, and staff agreed to identify camera‑covered locations and follow up with Bill and Craig on site recommendations.
A board member noted the Little Free Library organization provides plans and kits that could support construction and best practices. The board did not vote on the idea; members agreed to collect more information and return with a recommendation.
