Craig, speaking for the recreation division, said winter break camp had 28 enrollees and generated about $3,000 in gross revenue. Staff are hiring camp leaders and a camp director, and the department will implement Brightwheel in 2026 to manage program check‑in and parent communications.
On tourism and festivals, Craig said Celebration Lights sold 25,572 tickets overall and 10,388 drive‑through tickets. He noted that a portion of sold tickets were not scanned — about 10 percent of drive‑through tickets and roughly 1,600 stroll tickets across three nights — and staff plan a multi‑year comparison to investigate the discrepancy.
Craig also described a completed master plan for theater renovations. He said the project budget estimate increased over time and the planned renovation is currently estimated at $400,000; the department hopes to begin work by midyear if funding and approvals align. “The master plan is a very thorough master plan… the funding will probably get us started, and then we’ll just see where we can get from there,” Craig said.
Other program notes included a sold‑out January session of Big Shots Basketball, 26 volleyball clinic registrations, and athletics tournaments scheduled for every weekend from April through October 2026. Front desk staff are testing new check‑in processes to better track attendance and class popularity.
Board members asked that the recreation report be added to meeting records and the council consent calendar so it is available for future reference. No formal votes were taken on projects at the meeting.
