Scola described representing the 8th Senate District as an honor and reflected on changes in the Legislature since his first election in 1990. He listed priorities he expects the chamber to address in the session ahead, including work on the Public Education Funding Commission to revise the state funding formula, hospital cost review board responsibilities related to ChristianaCare and efforts to address rising electric bills and utility accountability.
Colleagues offered remarks of appreciation and the chamber acknowledged his years of service. Scola said he will leave at the end of his current term and thanked staff, family and constituents.
