Senate passes MLK commemoration, extends auto-insurance task force reporting

The Delaware Senate on Thursday adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 126 honoring the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and later approved Senate Concurrent Resolution 127 to extend the reporting deadline for the automobile insurance reform task force.
Senator Brown introduced SCR 126, calling attention to King’s work on behalf of workers and civic inclusion and asking colleagues to join in commemoration ahead of the January holiday. The chamber voted 21 yes to pass the resolution.
Senator Mancevenos outlined SCR 127, which would extend the task force’s reporting date from Jan. 30 to March 10 to allow more time for stakeholder work and final recommendations. Mancevenos said the task force has had robust discussion and needs additional time; the Senate recorded 21 yes votes and the resolution was declared passed.
Both measures passed by recorded roll calls in the Senate and will be forwarded consistent with legislative procedure.
