TALLAHASSEE — The Senate Committee on Governmental Oversight and Accountability on Jan. 23 reported favorably on SPB 70‑24, a bill that delays the repeal of current exemptions for cybersecurity information and consolidates agency‑specific exemptions into a single, agency‑wide exemption.
Senator Mayfield explained the proposal would delay repeal until Oct. 2, 2031 and simplify statutory exemptions related to cybersecurity information technology and operational technology. The committee had no appearance forms and no recorded debate on the measure; a motion to submit the bill as a committee bill carried without objection and the bill was reported favorably.
