The West Linn City Council on Jan. 13 handled annual organizational items and several routine approvals in a single meeting while also receiving public comment and presentations.
Council elected Mary Baumgartner as council president after a nomination by Councilor Bridal and a second; the nomination was accepted and approved by roll-call vote. The mayor placed three community advisory appointments before the council and members approved Clinton Springer to the Library Advisory Board and Samantha Thorson and Amy Schauer to the Sustainability Advisory Board. Staff noted several vacancies across advisory committees and said they would advertise to recruit additional members.
The council accepted a clean audit opinion for year ending June 30, 2025. Tanya Moffitt of Marina & Co. presented the audited financial statements and reported an unmodified opinion and no findings on the Oregon minimum standards report; the city will transition audits to Aldrich CPAs after Marina completes its contract.
During public comment, West Linn residents Carrie Cummings and Terry Cummings raised a personal-lien and court-judgment issue. Terry Cummings asked the city to remove a judgment that affected her ability to refinance and formally requested the release of related executive-session records; Mayor Bialystoski responded the city would follow up and begin the process to remove the lien.
