Residents urge clearer neighbor notifications and street safety improvements during public comment

He said state maps label the slope as highly susceptible to landslides, reported two historical slides on the site and asked whether the maps were consulted when approving tree permits. Morris warned of potential liability if slope movement harms people or property and asked staff to review notice policies.
Service access and street safety complaints: Another long‑time resident highlighted problems with City Hall service windows (intermittent closures and inconsistent staff information), and requested a 15 mph speed limit sign on Upper Mid Hill, describing the street as an unimproved, narrow residential way where drivers travel at freeway speeds. The commenter also described recurring trenching/pothole work that was not backfilled or signed and suggested improved project oversight and faster follow‑up from public works.
Council response: The mayor/presiding official thanked the public speakers, directed staff to review correspondence and follow up with residents, and flagged the issues for administrative follow‑up; no formal action was taken at the meeting.
