Taxi lanes near completion; apron extension planning to begin with FAA

Airport staff and the contractor told the board taxi lanes E, F, G and the Juliet connector are effectively in place but not yet open to operations because punch-list items and final surface markings remain.
"We're super close," one staff member said of the taxi lanes, and a contractor representative described needed repairs to a damaged concrete panel, grading adjustments and springtime striping as the final steps before full use. Staff said an invoice and contractor pay applications are being finalized and that final markings will occur in the spring.
The board also scheduled a kickoff meeting with FAA representatives to start joint planning for apron extension and rehabilitation work; staff said dirt work will likely begin in spring. To document construction, the board approved a plan to capture drone "before and after" footage, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday the 9th.
Staff asked the board to expect another contractor invoice as final pay applications are completed, and they noted some private-property repairs associated with the project will be fixed by the contractor at its expense.
