Oakley council certifies 2025 municipal election; turnout 68%

City staff said Oakley contracts with the Summit County Clerk's Office to administer ballots and that the county submitted a canvass report. Staff reported two precincts in Oakley with 956 registered voters and 652 ballots cast, a 68% turnout.
Staff read the reported vote totals aloud: in the Oakley mayoral race, Zane K. Wolsten Hume received 211 votes and Steven M. Wilmoth received 435, with a total of 646 votes recorded for that race and six undervotes. For the city council race, staff reported Amy Reagan with 386 votes, Kirby Lovett with 304, and Christopher L. Dillman with 442 (total votes cast 1,132) and 172 undervotes noted for council selections.
Staff accounted for ballot issues: seven ballots were not counted (four received after the deadline, one unsigned, one from a voter who had moved out of the county and one with unclear district assignment). Six provisional ballots were presented and all six were qualified and counted. Staff said there were no problems with the canvass process.
Unidentified Speaker 5 moved to pass Oakley City Resolution 2025-08 certifying the official canvass report; the motion was seconded and the council voice-voted in favor. Staff then requested council signatures on two pages of the document to complete the certification process.
