Council approves consent items, 2026 schedule and recognizes departing councilmember

Washington Terrace — At its regular meeting the Washington Terrace City Council approved routine consent items and the mayor’s reappointment to the Central Weber Sewer Improvement District Board of Trustees, adopted the 2026 council meeting schedule and presented a recognition to outgoing Councilmember Jill Christiansen.

Mayor Mark Allen announced he would continue to serve as the city’s representative on the Central Weber Sewer Improvement District Board, and the council approved the reappointment by general consent. The council then approved the 2026 meeting calendar as presented by staff (Amy), noting that work sessions may be added as needed.

In a brief recognition the mayor and council thanked Councilmember Jill Christiansen for four years of service. "I've appreciated getting to know you, and being able to work for you," Christiansen said in her remarks.

During council communications, members requested that staff add information about Get Healthy Utah to the city newsletter and discussed adding a QR code and instructions for residents to report streetlight issues to Rocky Mountain Power. Councilmembers also commended public works for overnight emergency responses and reminded residents to obey no-parking rules during snow events ahead of winter operations.

The mayor announced city office closures for Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 and confirmed the first council meeting of the year on Jan. 6, when newly elected officials will take their oaths. The council then moved to adjourn.
