North Logan reports progress on water projects and civic-center remodel; pavilion nearly ready

North Logan staff reported construction progress on key water projects and updates on the community/civic center at the Jan. 7 council meeting.
Jordan said the contact chamber at the mouth of the canyon has its concrete work complete and staff will finish piping, electronics and SCADA testing in the coming month before returning water to the system. He also said another quarter wall was poured at the 4,000,000-gallon reservoir, with subsequent pours scheduled after re-forming. “We finished the contact chamber up at the mouth of the canyon. All the concrete is done with that,” Jordan said, and added that the project is on track.
Jordan reported current flow from Water Canyon is about 200 gallons per minute — higher than average during wet conditions — and described how that figure relates to the capacity of other sources in the system.
Alan provided civic-center updates: interior demolition and remodel work is underway in the former library building, scheduling for the new space is being planned, and fundraising remains a priority. Alan also noted the North Pavilion in Elkridge is nearing completion and likely ready by March or April; restroom de-winterization is expected in April.
Council thanked staff for the updates and asked for continuing status reports as those projects advance. No formal votes or contract awards were taken during the presentation.
