Local meeting recommends Anasazi Handyman Services business license for town council approval

At a July 10, 2025 meeting, members recommended that the town council approve a business license for Anasazi Handyman Services, an application presented by applicant Chad Hintze of 10 West 300 South.
The recommendation followed a brief review of the application and a few clarifying questions. Board members asked whether the business would require parking, store chemicals or other odorous materials and whether the applicant would employ others. "I don't plan on it," Chad Hintze said when asked about storing chemicals, and he confirmed he currently would be the sole employee. Members also discussed tax and licensing requirements, noting an EIN and possible sales-and-use tax registration; staff and the applicant said the business appears to fall under a handyman exemption for small jobs not requiring a general contractor's license.
After discussion, an unidentified meeting participant moved to recommend approval of the license to the town council; another unidentified participant seconded the motion and members voted in favor. The panel advised Hintze that the town council meets the first Tuesday in August and that he is welcome to attend the council hearing in case council members have questions. Staff member Christie was identified as the person who will place the item on the council agenda if the applicant provides the required materials.
The matter will next appear before the town council for final action; the local meeting only issued a recommendation.
