Overtown planning commission changes winter meeting time, notes vacancies and training requirements

At its Nov. 18 meeting the Overtown Planning Commission approved several procedural items, updated meeting logistics and reviewed staff actions and training requirements.
The Presiding Officer called for adoption of the agenda; Tina Carlson moved to adopt, it was seconded and the commission approved the agenda unanimously.
The commission agreed to defer approval of the Sept. 16 minutes to the December meeting because several members had not had an opportunity to review them. Staff (Elizabeth) reported that two Planning Commission seats will be vacant (Seat 3 and Seat 4) with appointments scheduled for January and that the town council approved reimbursement for ULCT trainings. Elizabeth also said the town purchased an electronic permitting platform; staff will update application forms and migrate permit submissions to the new system, which should align forms with current ordinances.
Nick Benson moved that meeting start times change to 6 PM from November through February and 7 PM from March through October; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously. The presiding officer summarized next steps: staff will package survey and forum results for the commission and provide permit‑status reports in meeting materials; the Sept. 16 and Nov. 18 minutes will be reviewed at the December meeting. A motion to adjourn was made, seconded and passed; the meeting adjourned at 8:11 PM.
