Summary
After brief interviews, the mayor appointed Angie Fabasilio and Lainie Delang to the Rockville Planning Commission and named Skyler Davis as an alternate; mayor and council reviewed attendance expectations and the roles time commitment.
Rockvilles mayor appointed two residents to the Planning Commission and named one alternate during the Jan. 14 meeting after brief candidate remarks and council discussion.
Angie Fabasilio told the council she has been a town resident for decades and said she had served previously as an alternate. "I'm Angie Fabasilio ... I've been here 36 years and I, feel like it's good to give back to the community and help keep our community strong," she said.
Lainie Delang said she was motivated to move from complaint to participation: "I care deeply what happens to Rockville in the future ... I care about the community and the people that live here." Skyler Davis said he was committed to service and community fairness.
The mayor reminded appointees that the role requires more time than one monthly meeting and that alternates may participate in discussion but vote only when filling a quorum. Councilmembers emphasized attendance expectations and noted that three consecutive absences may result in dismissal.
The mayor appointed Fabasilio and Delang as full members and designated Davis as an alternate; the appointments take effect immediately and the mayor said training materials and a packet will be provided ahead of the next meeting.
