Planning commission recommends multiple permits; council hears item removal and conditional event permit

Permits and approvals: Rubkowitz said the commission granted a grading/excavation permit for a septic tank on Parcel R-1308-1 for Jacob Anderson, approved a home-occupation business license for Easton Ormekin at 268 Grafton Road, and granted a building permit at 196 West Grafton for T.C. Jennings with minor plan corrections (square footage and elevation details). The commission also approved a storage-shed request for Phil and Lynn Barnage at 59 East Main and granted an excavation/stream alteration permit for Doyle Timmons at 449 West Main after the applicant provided a hydrologic study and secured approvals from the state hydrologist, Division of Water Resources, the Army Corps of Engineers and flood-plain authorities.
Conditional special event: A special-event permit for vacation races presented by Jessup (route running from Virgin to the park) was approved conditionally on proof of insurance and a Utah Department of Transportation permit; the event is scheduled for Feb. 28.
Why it matters: the commission’s choices affect development oversight and event permitting in Rockville; the council and staff will monitor compliance with permit conditions and the administrative follow-up for the Anderson permit.
