Mayor reports park remediation, Comcast fiber schedule; commission approves multiple meeting minutes

Mayor McKinney updated the commission on several town projects, saying the park work required "we had to remove some because it didn't have arsenic in it, so we had to take it to the landfill," and that crews are capping and finishing inspections. She added that Comcast plans to "have Fairfield up and going by December 2" and will run fiber to every house if weather permits.
The mayor also said staff are consolidating passed ordinances and resolutions into a single code book and will submit that draft to the town’s code vendor for online publication. Commissioners did not vote on code changes at this meeting but were told the code book submission is in progress.
Earlier in the meeting the commission approved consent items including minutes from 08/06/2025, 08/14/2025, 09/03/2025 and 09/09/2025 after noting small transcription/spelling issues; a motion carried with affirmative votes by the commissioners present.
