A staff member said the change is intended to keep signage consistent with Grantsville’s Main Street character and avoid large‑scale signs such as 35‑foot roadside signs. One attendee said the proposal is part of a broader effort to preserve Main Street’s appearance. The commission asked to make future zoning maps interactive so members can better visualize where conditional signs would be allowed.
A motion to recommend approval was made and seconded; a voice vote on the record was 'All in favor — Aye.' The commission forwarded the recommended code changes to the city council for consideration.
Next steps: The city council will review the proposed Chapter 20 amendments and decide whether to adopt them, which would create a conditional review path for electronic message boards outside CS and CG zones.
