Council hears major water-tank pour, civic center progress and capital-project briefs

Public works reported the tank floor pour used approximately 570 cubic yards of concrete delivered by an estimated 57 trucks; the tank is roughly 160 feet in diameter and crews will tension the slab and continue with wall and pillar pours over coming weeks, with a major roof pour anticipated next March. Council members and staff welcomed the milestone and invited ceremonial participation.
Alan and Trent gave a civic center update: interior painting is underway in the new community center portion, staff are coordinating book transfers and other departments will help with logistics. Staff said they hoped to have the community center ready by the employee Christmas party but acknowledged schedule risk.
The mayor reported North Logan-led regional coordination at the COG produced a No. 1 safety ranking for the Ozark and East project and that the city is participating in joint projects (2nd East with Logan City and a Cache County roundabout at 12th East/3100 North). Council members praised staff and noted upcoming ranking and allocation steps later this month.
