The Carl Junction Board of Aldermen on Jan. 6 presented a life‑saving award to Officer Bridal for administering CPR and Narcan during a February overdose that evacuated the person to the hospital, where they survived.
Police Chief explained the award recognized a second life‑saving incident for the officer and described the award insignia. The board commended the officer and thanked the police department for its service.
The chief also recommended the appointment of Jonathan Taber to the police department. The board approved the appointment (motion by Roger, second by Carol) with the presiding official announcing an affirmative vote count of eight. Taber took the oath of office, swearing to meet statutory qualifications and to support the constitutions of the United States and Missouri and the ordinances of Carl Junction.
Council members noted with appreciation that the department is now fully staffed. No additional personnel actions were taken in open session at the Jan. 6 meeting.
