Morgan planning board continues two applications to Oct. 7; approves minutes, then adjourns

The City of Morgan planning and zoning board voted unanimously to continue two agenda items to Oct. 7, 2025, after an applicant’s counsel requested more time to amend filings. The board also approved the meeting minutes on a separate motion, observed a moment of silence for the Sept. 11 attacks and adjourned.

The Chair said the applicant had submitted a letter asking the board to continue the two items to Oct. 7, 2025, and called for a motion and second. The City Attorney said the applicants’ counsel had requested the continuance “due to changes that are being made in the application” and advised the board that a motion and second were required to continue the public hearings. The board then voted by roll call; Joseph Eppip, Elsa Sanchez, Robin Sloan and Joe Brendel recorded 'Yes' votes for the continuance.

The City Attorney stated the two matters, identified in the transcript as item IDs 2025-231 and 2025-232, have been continued to Oct. 7, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. for public hearings to be held in the City Commission Chambers of the City of Morgan. The continuance preserves the opportunity for public testimony and for the applicants to submit revised materials before the hearings.

Earlier in the meeting the board approved minutes noted in the record as ID 2020Five-two40; members recorded affirmative votes during the roll call. The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence marking the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks; the Chair noted Mayor Shekinah was not present.

The Chair called for adjournment after general discussion. Commissioner Tommy Rosano remained after the meeting to speak with attendees who had questions. The board did not take further action on the continued items at this session.
